What is OTP Not Received?
On Rummy Circle, an OTP (One-Time Password) is a time-sensitive 4- or 6-digit code sent to your registered mobile number via SMS. It is required to log in, register, process withdrawals to UPI apps like PhonePe or GPay, and update account details on rummycircleapp.org. "OTP not received" means this code never arrives within the expected 30 to 60 second window, blocking you from completing any of those actions entirely.
This is not a password error, your login credentials may be correct, yet the verification layer fails to deliver. The most frequent causes are DND (Do Not Disturb) registration blocking transactional SMS, poor 4G or 5G signal, recent SIM porting between carriers like Jio, Airtel, Vi, or BSNL, or Android spam filters silently suppressing the message. Rummy Circle dispatches OTPs through a dedicated SMS gateway within seconds, so a delay beyond 60 seconds almost always points to a network or device-side delivery failure rather than a platform error.

OTP Not Received Step by Step
Open your phone's native Messages app and search for sender ID RMYCRL or the word "Rummy." If the SMS is there but silent, go to Settings → Apps → Messages → Notifications and re-enable SMS alerts. Confirm you have at least one bar of mobile signal or an active Wi-Fi connection, since some Android devices suppress SMS delivery when data is fully off.
If no SMS appears after 60 seconds, tap Resend OTP on the Rummy Circle screen. You may resend up to 3 times within a 10-minute window. After the third attempt, wait the full 10 minutes to avoid a temporary rate-lock. During that wait, dial 1909 from your SIM, the TRAI DND helpline, and request that transactional SMS from gaming and financial services be whitelisted on your number.

If retrying still fails, go to Settings → Mobile Network → Preferred Network Type, switch from 4G to 3G, wait 15 seconds, then switch back. This forces a network re-registration and clears stuck SMS queues. If nothing works, contact Rummy Circle support via in-app chat with your registered number and the exact timestamp of the failed attempt so the team can trigger an alternate delivery or manually verify your session.
How OTP Not Received Works
When you request an OTP on rummycircleapp.org, the platform's backend instantly generates a unique code tied to your session and forwards it to a third-party SMS gateway. That gateway routes the message through telecom aggregators to your carrier, Jio, Airtel, Vi, or BSNL, which then pushes the SMS to your handset. Each hop adds a small latency; under normal conditions the total round-trip is under 10 seconds.

Delivery breaks down at several points: the carrier's DND filter may classify the OTP as promotional and discard it before delivery; network congestion during peak evening hours (8 to 11 PM IST) can queue messages for several minutes; and Android's built-in spam classifier or third-party security apps can intercept the SMS silently. The OTP itself expires in 10 minutes on Rummy Circle, so even delayed delivery renders the code invalid if it arrives too late.
